BTR Goes Online!

Mar 22 2020

Dear BTR Families,

I would like to take a moment to thank you all for your understanding and cooperation during this time. I would like to thank you for respecting our policies put in place last week. By you doing this, it allows us to keep our doors open and our studios safe.

We are so excited to share with you that BTR is going online! To give you more choice in how you would like to receive your lessons during this time, we have now made it super easy for you to continue this from the comfort of your own home!

What do you need to do?

  1. Decide if you would like to continue having your lessons within the studios or at home.

    • Please note that if continuing lessons within the studios we ask that parents drop and collect students at the door (the age of 12 and under to be signed in has now been dropped for this time - our administration team will be there to sign your child in and out.

    • Students and adults who need to enter with their child will be required to wash their hands on arrival.

    • All toys, magazines and books have been removed from the foyer area.

  2. What to do if you would like to switch to online lessons:

    • Create a Skype Account (Why Skype - because it offers no cost to all involved and is the most flexibility for what we offer, allowing us to maintain our services to you with ease during this time)

    • Pass on your Skype ID to the Administration Team via SMS or email and we will take care of the rest.

    • Download the Skype App onto the device that you wish to use at home for these lessons (PC, Laptop, Smartphone or Tablet)

    • When it is time for your lesson please ensure you have your device charged, ready to go and your Skype Account open. Your teacher will dial in at your lesson time through My Music Staff.

    • Lesson notes will be completed through My Music Staff by your teacher and then emailed to you for Instrumental Lessons. For Kindermusik, Eunice will email your class notes to you.

  3. What are some ways that you can get the best experience from lessons online? Please note, that these are all optional.

    • If you want to improve the quality of your sound that we hear so that our teachers can better teach you or your child, then a microphone that connects and works with your device will be beneficial. These prices do vary. Or simply use headphones with an inbuilt microphone.

    • Having a stand for your Smartphone/Tablet could help with positioning and being able to see you better. You can purchase these from K-mart for $8 - $15.

    • An LED Light - Better to see you with! You can purchase a Desk Clip on Light from K-mart for $12.

  4. What if my child or someone in my family is unwell this week?

    • If you or your child are still not well enough to participate in lessons, then simply take us up on our online option.

  5. What if my internet connection is not great or I am unable to participate in online lessons?

    • Your teacher can pre-record and email a video of your child’s lesson for them to complete at home (Instrumental Lessons Only). Kindermusik have instructed us that Kindermusik Lessons are not to be pre-recorded and emailed to families as it is maintaining the integrity of the live experience for families

    • If this is not an option please contact Eunice on 0422 432 097.

Please note:

  1. All online lessons will be recorded for the safety of both parties involved.

  2. Students are encouraged to have their online lesson in an area of the home that is not their bedroom. If this can’t be avoided then a parent or guardian must be present for the entire lesson.

  3. If schools in Queensland are instructed to close, BTR lessons will be moved online effective immediately. If this is not an option for you please contact Eunice.
